Hi folks,
maybe a stupid question, but the man page doesn't tell:
How comes that --mtu-test responds
Sat Jul 1 12:21:51 2017 NOTE: Empirical MTU test completed [Tried,Actual] local->remote=[1525,1525] remote->local=[1522,1522]
even though ifconfig shows the mtu is set to 1500 and
"ping -c 3 -M do -s 1473 gate.example.com" confirms
PING gate.example.com (10.0.0.1) 1473(1501) bytes of data.
ping: local error: Message too long, mtu=1500
ping: local error: Message too long, mtu=1500
ping: local error: Message too long, mtu=1500
--- gate.example.com ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 0 received, +3 errors, 100% packet loss, time 2068ms
WTH? Whose mtu is --mtu-test testing?
Every insightful comment is highly appreciated.
